Ride the Rim picks you up at an Art Gallery on Kukuihaele in Waipio. The art gallery is a nice quaint establishment with a large variety of local arts and crafts. You check in at the front desk at the Art Gallery for your tour. It is a short drive to the starting point for the Ride The Rim tour at Waipio. Ride the Rim is located in beautiful Waipio, Big Island. You pick out a helmet and are assigned an ATV by the tour guide. If you have never gone ATV before the staff are very patient teachers. After the basic introduction and instruction, there is a small test course to make sure you are ready. Once the group is ready they put you on the regular course for the Ride the Rim tour. The ATV trails in Waipi'o Valley were originally old sugarcane plantation roads. There are lots of Eucalyptus trees and ginger along the trail, it smells so nice. The mountain, forest, ocean and waterfalls views along the course are breathtaking. The mud puddles will get dirty so have fun and wear clothes that you are ok with getting muddy. One of the stops is a swimming pond with waterfalls that you can go swimming. At the swimming pond and waterfalls they serve cold drinks and snacks, this is a great place to relax, enjoy nature, and take photos. The next stop is beautiful Waipio Valley, this is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
The last stop is lookout where you can see Waipio Valley and beautiful, majestic Hi'ilawe Waterfall. This is a magical place and a great photo opportunity. This is a fun and exciting experience as well as a great way to see Waipio Valley. |
